Construction Permit Process

All permit packages must be submitted complete. Please be sure to fold any architectural plans. Checklists are provided below.

• Permits may be submitted or issued Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
• The person in charge of the front of the construction jacket will receive a call when the permit is ready to issue. If you have not received a call, the permit is being reviewed.

Building Inspections

Building inspections may be called into the Surf City Building Department Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

• Block and Lot required.
• Inspections for the building subcode will be scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm.
• Be sure to have the builder’s job copy on the site.

Electric, Plumbing and Fire Subcode Inspections

• Permit number required for scheduling.
• Once the inspection from Stafford Township is final, the documents will be transferred to Surf City.
