January Meeting Highlights

Resolution 2025-34 awards the 2024 Repair/Painting of the 13th Street Waterspheriod. The Borough Clerk has received bids as follows:

• Allied Painting, Inc. for $938,950.00

• Brave Industrial Paint, LLC for $988,000.00

• Dynamic Sandblasting and Painting, LLC for $1,098,500.00

• United Painters, Inc. for $1,515.000.00

• U.S. Tank Painting, Inc. for $1,571,000.00

Allied Painting, Inc. a was awarded the contract for $938,950.00.

Bond ordinances were introduced to authorize the spending for drainage and road improvement projects related to the Ocean County ARPA Grant Funds and the NJDOT funds.

The Council approved an agreement to be executed for the LED Street Light Fixtures. Installation will be scheduled soon.

November Meeting Highlights

The Borough has been awarded $3,929,026.00 for the design and installation of drainage plus road restoration for the 300 Blocks of S. 3rd, S. 2nd, S. 1st; N. 2nd, N. 9th, N. 11th, N. 12th and the 200 Block of N. 4th
The 2025 Reorganization is scheduled for January 2, 2025 at 10:00 am the regular meeting is scheduled to immediately follow.
The Special Edition Holiday Beach Badge is for sale during regular business hours at Borough Hall.

The Borough welcomes new Councilman Lee Lieber. He filled the vacancy after the resignation of Councilman McMenamin.
Council authorizes the Mayor and Borough Clerk to execute and agreement and installation of LED street lights.
A bid was awarded to Earle Asphalt Co. in the amount of $442, 113.13 for the reconstruction of the 100 Blocks for N. 1st, N. 2nd and N. 3rd Streets.
An application willbe submitted for the 2025 NJDCA Local Recreation Grant for fencing around the pickleball courts, baseball field and three new basketball systems.

Honoring Veteran’s Day

As Veteran’s Day approaches, the Borough of Surf City Governing Body and Staff would like to express our gratitude for the service and sacrifice of our nation’s Veterans. We honor all of those who have served and are actively serving, Thank you.

October Highlights

Mayor Hodgson proclaimed that October 20th to the 26th is “National Friends of the Library week.
The SCTA was approved to host a community event at Richard A. Zachariae Park in June of 2025.
The N. 13th Street garage siding was repaired from storm damage.
The Borough is working on bids for new windows.
SCPD offers the CARE program. They will call any disabled resident, daily, to conduct a wellness check. Also, any property owner can sign up for winter home checks. Click on this section to connect with the PD web page for more information.
